Are you considering adding a Luxury Glass Veranda to your home in ?
We would like to advice you that not all Veranda companies are the same and the first question you should ask of any company that you contact is how long have they been trading? The Glass Veranda market has attracted lots of very new companies looking to make money from one of the must have products from the continent.
Are they a limited company and if they are who are the Directors? If you are given or find the information on the internet, check them out and see how many Directorships they have had and you will quickly build up a picture of the company and people that you could be dealing with. A Glass Veranda can be a large purchase and as so it has attracted some companies that have come and gone and come back again in different incarnations. SBI have been trading for over 15 years initially as a partnership then in 2005 as a Limited company. We were one of the first companies in the UK to install the German Weinor Terrazza Patio Roof. We have carried out literally hundreds of installations across the UK for homeowners and offer many different types of patio roofing systems.
Glass Verandas are chosen over cheaper tripe wall polycarbonate roofs due to the clarity and aesthetic appearance of glass. Another reason we find our clients are looking for a glass veranda is that they are worried that a hollow polycarbonate roof will make a lot of noise when it rains. Others clients are worried that the plastic roof will not be UV stable and may discolour. Whilst aesthetically glass looks very nice (when it is clean) you will find that maintenance may be more over an opal polycarbonate roof. Glass roofs will not give as much protection from the heat and glare of the sun and you may find the need to add reflective solar films to the glass or externally mounted blinds.
As we import our Veranda Lux Patio Roof we offer a true alternative to both cheap triple wall polycarbonate glazing and glass. We offer a much stronger product than glass with similar optically clear properties. The glazing that we use is lighter than glass so unsightly transom bars are not required to split the glass panels in to shorter projections. The glazing is as quite as glass when the rain falls on it, as it is solid the same as glass. The glazing is UV resistant so it will not discolour like cheap corrugated glazing.
The big advantage that our glazing offers over glass is that we glaze projections up to 4.5 metres in a single sheet, without any unsightly transom bars (horizontal structural bars separating the glass). In our opinion this makes our Veranda Lux Patio Roof look far more attractive. If you are buying a Glass Veranda because you like the look of a clear sky, then choose our 6mm solid clear view-poly glazed roof. All the beauty of glass but stronger, lighter, UV stable and with out the need for unsightly transom bars.
Please note the above pictures are some of SBI Ltd installations carried out in the UK by our own installation teams. Whilst the above roofs look like Glass Verandas they are in fact our 6mm solid clear-poly glazed patio roofs.
